The September 2026 update of the Scopus Discontinued Titles list includes ten newly added journals, up from three in August. For researchers preparing a submission or waiting for publication, the update raises an important question: does Scopus still cover the journal—and the issue—in which their article will appear? Two journals are listed under Discontinuation, while eight carry the label Journal change policy. Below, we explain what the spreadsheet records for each title, provide direct links for verification, and outline the next steps for authors.

Which journals appear in the September 2026 update?

1. Advanced Electromagnetics
  • E-ISSN: 2119-0275
  • Publisher: Advanced Electromagnetics
  • Reason recorded: Journal change policy
  • Last coverage recorded: 2026, volume 15, issue 2, pages 21–34
  • Scopus profile: View in Scopus
  • Official website: Visit the journal website

The journal's website already lists issue 3 of 2026, which falls after the recorded coverage endpoint. Authors in that issue should verify their articles in Scopus.

2. East European Journal of Physics
  • ISSN: 2312-4334
  • E-ISSN: 2312-4539
  • Publisher: V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University
  • Reason recorded: Discontinuation
  • Last coverage recorded: 2026, issue 2, pages 622–632
  • Scopus profile: View in Scopus
  • Official website: Visit the journal website

The coverage recorded for this journal extends into 2026. Compare your article's volume, issue, and publication details with the listed endpoint, then verify the article directly in Scopus.

3. Eurasian Journal of Business and Economics
  • ISSN: 1694-5948
  • E-ISSN: 1694-5972
  • Publisher: Ala-Too International University
  • Reason recorded: Journal change policy

The journal entered Scopus in 2024, and its recorded coverage already ends in 2025. Articles published in 2026 should be checked individually.

4. European Journal of Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry
  • ISSN: 0965-7452
  • E-ISSN: 2396-8893
  • Publisher: European Journal of Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry

  • Last coverage recorded: 2025, volume 33, issue 4, pages 465–470
  • Scopus profile: View in Scopus
  • Official website: Visit the journal website

The spreadsheet records a 2025 coverage endpoint. Its addition to the September 2026 list does not confirm that 2026 publications were covered by Scopus.

5. International Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (IJAIML)
  • E-ISSN: 2789-2557
  • Publisher: SvedbergOpen
  • Reason recorded: Journal change policy

Why the update date and coverage date are different

A journal's appearance in the September 2026 discontinued list does not mean its coverage continued until September. The update identifies when the title appears as a new entry. The coverage fields identify the last material recorded as covered. In this update, those endpoints fall in 2024, 2025, and 2026.
For authors, the practical question is therefore more specific than "Was this journal indexed?"
It is: "Is my article—or its intended publication issue—covered by Scopus?"

The recorded reasons also differ. Two titles carry Discontinuation, while eight carry Journal change policy. At least three of those eight have recently changed publisher or platform. These labels should not be presented as interchangeable explanations or automatic evidence of misconduct.

What should you do if your journal is on the list?

If you are choosing a journal: check its Scopus profile and coverage information before submitting. Use the ISSN to distinguish between similarly named publications.
If your manuscript is under review or accepted: ask the editorial office to confirm the planned publication year, volume, and issue. Compare that information with the recorded coverage endpoint before making further commitments.
If your article is already published: search Scopus using its title or DOI. Discontinued journal coverage does not automatically mean that every previously indexed article has been removed.
If you need the publication for a degree, promotion, or funding requirement, confirm the applicable rules with your institution.

Conclusion

The September 2026 update adds ten journals to the Scopus Discontinued Titles list, with different recorded reasons and coverage endpoints from 2024 to 2026.

For researchers, checking the journal’s name is only the first step. Verify the coverage dates, check your individual article where applicable, and reassess the journal before submitting or paying a publication fee.
