1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using arxivia.ai ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform.

These Terms apply to all users of the Platform, including researchers, authors, journal editors, and university staff.

Arxivia provides AI-powered tools for academic publishing, including journal discovery, predatory journal risk analysis, article readiness checks, and editorial support tools for journal teams.

Our services are informational only. They are designed to assist decision-making — not to replace professional academic, legal, or editorial judgment.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Arxivia. By using the Platform, you represent that you are 18 or older. Users under 18 may only use the Platform under the direct supervision of an educational institution or a parent or guardian.

You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction.

5. Account & email

Arxivia uses your email address as your account identifier. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under your email.

• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account at support@arxivia.ai
• We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorised account use that you failed to report

6. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. The following activities are strictly prohibited:

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension without refund.

7. Credits & payments

Credit system

Author-facing products operate on a prepaid credit system. Credits are purchased in packages and deducted upon successful report delivery.

• Credits do not expire — they remain on your account indefinitely
• Credits are non-transferable between accounts
• Unused credits are non-refundable except as described in our Refund Policy
• If a report fails to deliver, your credit is restored to your balance automatically

Pricing

All prices are listed in USD and are exclusive of any applicable taxes. You are responsible for any taxes, duties, or charges imposed by your local jurisdiction.

Arxivia reserves the right to change prices at any time. We will notify existing users by email at least 14 days before any price changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

Payment processing

Payments are processed by Stripe. By making a purchase, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. Arxivia does not store your card details.

8. Intellectual property

The "arxivia" name, logo, and "Science deserves better tools" slogan are trademarks of Arxivia OÜ.

9. AI disclaimer

Arxivia's analysis is generated by AI models trained on publicly available data. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated results have inherent limitations.

What our analysis is

• A snapshot of publicly available data at the time of your request
• An AI-assisted assessment based on known quality signals and predatory journal indicators
• A starting point for your own due diligence

What our analysis is not

• A guarantee of journal acceptance or publication
• A guarantee of ongoing Scopus or Web of Science indexation
• A legal opinion or formal academic audit
• A prediction of future journal quality or indexation status

Arxivia is not liable for any submission fees (APCs), publication costs, or academic consequences resulting from decisions made based on our reports.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Arxivia OÜ shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.

This includes, but is not limited to: loss of revenue, loss of data, reputational damage, or costs associated with journal submission or APC payments.

Liability cap: In any case where Arxivia is found liable, our total liability to you shall not exceed the total amount you paid to Arxivia in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

By you

You may stop using Arxivia at any time. To request account deletion and removal of your personal data, email support@arxivia.ai. We will process your request within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By Arxivia

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform immediately and without prior notice if:

• You violate any provision of these Terms
• You engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
• Continued access poses a risk to the Platform or other users

In cases of termination due to a Terms violation, unused credits are forfeited and no refund will be issued. In cases where we terminate your account without cause, unused credits will be refunded.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices.

When we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The updated Terms will also be posted at arxivia.ai/terms with the new effective date.

Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform before the effective date.

13. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Estonia and applicable European Union regulations.

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Estonia, without prejudice to your rights as an EU consumer to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
